No shows raising their heads again during COVID times, Independent, Jul 2020
Katy McGuinness highlights the issue of no shows especially during these difficult times

No shows are tough at any time of the year, but under current circumstances they hit our businesses harder than ever. Lola has lost 35% of our seats to accomodate social distancing, which equates to roughly 45% less people through our doors as we're never at 100% capacity. So ever seat counts.
For this reason, we'd ask our custoemrs to please contact us if you can't make your booking, even if it's a call 5 minutes before (or after your arrival time). It just gives us a chance to resell the table and recoup the loss.
We do take deposits for larger groups, but we don't want to go down the route of same for each and every booking. As a tapas restaurant we've all walks of life, ages, families, friends, you name it coming through our doors. We just simply as for a little courtesy of a call should you not be able to make it. We can resell the table then - but we could also reschedule your booking too.
