Restaurant folk - a letter template for your staff for their landlords

Guys, we've put together the letter below for our staff to send to their landlords, or to copy and paste and text / what's app to them.. may be of some help for your teams. Again - we're no lawyers or experts, but thought it might be of some help to our team.

I am writing to you in the hope that we might come to an agreement with reference to my rent due.

As a result of the current Coronavirus crisis, I have been temporarily laid off from my work. Whilst there are plans to be back in work as soon as this passes (we’ve been notified that we may be back in work on the 30th March); as of today, no one is sure when that will be.

Please be assured, I’m not asking to waive my rent, just hoping we could come to an agreement to defer my next payment and agree a plan to pay same the following month; or split pro rata over the next couple of payments.

As the current crisis stands, I’m going nowhere. I want (and need) to get back to work, so my home is a priority for me. Once again, I’m not asking for my rent to be waived; just a moratorium on same.
