It's all about sucking the heads..
Tradition states.. you have to suck the heads.. that's of course if they are the freshest of the fresh (which we serve). Where to start? We've enjoyed gambas a la plancha all over Spain, from Bilbao & San Sebastian, through the Costa Brava and Barcelona and all the way down as far as Chipiona and El Puerto de Santa Maria. You name the coastline and we've tried the gambas.
Where we really fell in love was on the beach in Aiguablava on the Costa Brava. We came across the most beautiful restaurant Toc al Mar right on the beach that receives its fish and shellfish fresh from the boats each day.. Sandra, one of the owners, always looks after us so well and is passionate about her food. So of course, the gambas had to make an appearance on our menu! But we get them fresh each day from Cork.
